Half Term is creeping up fast!

We have barely put away the Christmas decorations, and February Half Term is almost here.

It’s undoubtedly already highlighted and underlined in your diary. But just in case your focus is solely on work at the moment, the dates for most schools this year are Monday 12th to Friday 16th February.

For children, February half-term couldn’t come soon enough. For pressured professional parents, it’s another thing that requires strategic planning and careful thought – whether you’re able to take time off yourself or not.

Before the horror of realising there is a whole week of wall to wall activity to arrange sets in, we’ve hand-picked a selection of interesting, entertaining and inspiring places to go and things to see in London this February half-term:

Imagine Children’s Festival  
At the Southbank Centre, the Imagine Children’s Festival is back for the February half-term, celebrating all facets of kids' literature, theatre, dance, and music. There are plenty of events that cater to all ages, interests and budgets – with plenty of free events, too.

London Brick Festival   
If your child is a Lego fanatic, this weekend event is ideal – the London Brick Festival has been running since 2018 and has plenty to do, see and experience, including speed-building competitions, large-scale displays, hands on activities and more.

Malorie Blackman: The Power of Stories  
Literary lovers can take the inspirational journey through the career of Malorie Blackman, author of Noughts & Crosses. The free event allows you to explore Malorie's impact on the world of children's literature.

Dinosaur rEvolution  
Education meets fun at Horniman Museums and Gardens' newest exhibition, which is a must for any dinosaur aficionado. Dinosaur rEvolution explores the relationship between dinosaurs and birds, and includes large animatronic models, accurately cast fossil skeletons, and dress-up games.

Kew Orchids Festival

Yoko Ono  
This year, an unmissable exhibition to see in London is the Yoko Ono: Music of the Mind at Tate Modern. It features 200 of the artist's works to look back over her 70-year career, where you can delve into the powerful, participatory work of artist and activist.
